Dominoes is a tile-matching game for two to four players using a double-six set of 28 tiles carrying 168 pips in total. Each player takes seven tiles (five with three or four players), the highest double leads, and players take turns adding one tile to either open end of the line so that the touching numbers match. If you cannot play you draw from the boneyard — or, in the Block game, simply pass. The round ends when someone plays their last tile or the line is blocked, and the player with the fewest pips left scores the difference.
This version plays Block, Draw and All Fives on double-six, double-nine and double-twelve sets, against an opponent that counts unseen tiles and remembers every pass. The complete rules, scoring including the blocked-game rule sources disagree on, Mexican Train rules, strategy measured over 15,000 simulated rounds and free printable score sheets all live on their own pages.
You hold seven tiles in a two-player game, five in a three or four-player game. Each tile has two ends carrying zero to six pips. Tiles you can legally play are highlighted; the rest are dimmed.
Tap a tile to play it. It must match the number showing at one end of the line — a 4–2 goes onto an end showing 4 or an end showing 2. If it fits both ends, you pick which.
If nothing in your hand matches, draw from the boneyard until something does. The last two tiles of the boneyard are never drawn, so once it is down to two you pass instead.
Play your last tile and you have "dominoed" — the round ends immediately and you score the pips everyone else is still holding.
If nobody can play, the round ends blocked and the lowest pip count wins it. First to 100 points (two players) or 61 (three or four) takes the match.
That is the Draw game. Block is the same game without the boneyard — and it is a far harsher one: 61% of Block rounds end jammed with tiles still in hand, against 19.2% of Draw rounds.
